Spaying is one of the major surgeries performed on cats. Post-Spaying care is of utmost importance. No complications will occur if we take care during the recovery period after surgery. There are some important points about post-spaying care of your cat which can prove very beneficial if followed properly:

1-Keep your cat indoors for at least 10-14 days. Also, keep her away from your other pets. Provide comfortable space for your cats. 2-Pain killers for at least three days and antibiotics for at least seven days 3-Six hours after surgery, offer food and water to your cat but the quantity should be 1/3rd of the one you offer her in routine. 4-Food and water intake of your cat should be normal after 24 hours of surgery. Contact your vet if your cat is eating less, vomiting, or having diarrhea. 5-Examine the incision on a daily basis and keep it clean
6-Do not bathe your cat for at least 10 days 7-Do not allow licking as it may cause infections. So use E-Collar if your cat licks the incision site. 8-There should be no excessive swelling, redness, or discharge from the incision site. 9-Don't allow your cat for any activity including running, jumping, or playing 10-If your cat was spayed during the heat period, she may show heat signs even after surgery but it will remain only for a few days/weeks.
